Savia's R+D department works on demand with clients and the international scientific community to provide tangible and effective results. Our most recent R+D achievement is a NIRS technology application to automate fruit and vegetable quality selection for major distributors in Almeria. The application allows for a non-destructive method to measure degrees Brix in watermelon and internal bruising in eggplant directly on packaging lines.

The development of DNA markers in fruits and vegetables is also a constant pursuit at Savia. Aside from developing markers for use in our laboratory, we always welcome marker development proposals from Seed companies and professionals to meet their own specific needs.
